"We may have overshot the schedule by five days, but when it comes to the budget, we definitely got a lot of bang for the buck," said Dan, remarking on the 21 1/4 inch; 8 lb., 9 oz. baby. "Based on the overwhelming success of the premiere, we anticipate a stunning domestic performance with a very long life ahead of her in the ancillary sectors - particularly home video."
Doing the production on location was key. Dr. Rachel Mirvish, a pediatrician who performs a recurring role for Kaiser-Permanente, opted for Kaiser's Bellflower production facility. "A lot of people have been complaining about runaway productions going to Canada, but for Rebecca, the Bellflower location had the advantages of an under-utilized home-turf advantage while still being a short drive from our Culver City offices," said Dan, a filmmaker (Omaha (the movie)) and Co-Founder-at-Large of the Slamdance Film Festival.
Executive producers Alice & Charles Zlatkoff and Marty Miller were at the hospital anticipating Rebecca, while exec-producing partners Sidney & Lynda Mirvish phoned in their advice from Omaha, Nebraska. Along with associate producers Erika Zlatkoff and Leora Mirvish, all expect to convene on the Culver City-based Mirvish studio in a matter of days.
Rebecca will be screening at the Mirvish office at 3812 Westwood Bl., Culver City, CA, 90232 for an open-ended run. For ticket information, please call 310-839-2569 or email dmirvish@slamdance.com. Stay tuned to this webpage for more still photos and other promotional material.
