Baby Naming Means More Photos...
REBECCA MAKES A NAME FOR HERSELF!

Scarcely 11 days old, young Rebecca officially got her name as part of a traditional Friday night service at the Malibu Synagogue. The Rabbi had the various grandparents and aunts hold Dan's tallis (also used as the chuppah at Dan and Rachel's wedding) over Rachel, Rebecca and Dan as she performed the various blessings. Rebecca was beautifully quiet and attentive during the ceremony. Among other highlights of the service, was a modern Klesmer band that played "Silent Night" on the shofar. That's when Rebecca started crying. Did we mention this was in Malibu?

The whole family shows up in force before the ceremony.

Three generations: Alice, daughters Erika and Rachel, and grandaughter Rebecca.

Tha aunties: Erika and Leora.

Sorry, no pix of the ceremony, but after the shofar incident, Rebecca hid in the Rabbi's office. Rachel comforted her with an odd - and somewhat less productive - variation of breastfeeding.

Back home, Dan compares chins with Rebecca.

Posing for a family picture, Lynda gives Rebecca her first set of rabbit ears.

Granny Lynda places her last orders for Trader Joes with Rebecca before heading back to Omaha.

Grandpa Sidney comes to the realization that Rebecca is not, in fact, a cat.

Alice and Charles seem quite happy that they do not have to go back to Omaha.

Rebecca will be screening at the Mirvish office at 3812 Westwood Bl., Culver City, CA, 90232 for an open-ended run. For ticket information, please call 310-839-2569 or email dmirvish@slamdance.com.
